About NMAT - 2020

The NMAT by GMACGraduate Management Admission Council exam helps join the leading management programmes in India. Brought to you by the organization that owns the GMAT® exam, the NMAT by GMAC™ enables schools to recruit top talent with the comfort that the test measures the skills needed to succeed in their programmes. It gives candidates the confidence to perform their best.
The NMAT by GMAC™ exam is used for admissions to some of the leading graduate business programmes in India. Since becoming a computer based test in 2009, the NMAT by GMAC™ has been at the forefront of measurement in India as a valid and reliable predictor of success in graduate business school.
Schools will have access to one of the more diverse test taking populations in India with some of the highest proportions of women and non-engineers taking the exam. Test takers will have access to practice materials to enhance their preparations.
The NMAT by GMAC™ exam has been, and will continue to be, a symbol of quality – enabling test takers to access graduate management education and a career of choice, while providing schools access to top talent.
Register & Schedule
You must register and pay for the NMAT by GMAC™ exam before scheduling a test date and location.
Note: Candidates are required to visit respective university/college/school website for details of their admission procedure. You have to submit their respective form separately.
Registration and Payment
Create an account on nmat.org.in using a valid email address.
Provide contact information, personal, educational and work experience, the list of programmes to send scores, and the ID that you will use at the test centre. Indicate your interest in participating in a search service and agree to the terms and conditions.
Your name and date of birth that you enter on the registration form should match the name and date of birth on your Photo and Signature ID.
Choose the schools to send your scores under the “Schools Preference” section. Up to 5 programmes are included in your registration fee. An additional fee of INR 200 + applicable taxes will be applied for each programme added in excess of 5 programs.
You must upload a recent photograph and the photograph on your Photo ID. This photograph will be included on the admit card that you must bring to the exam.
Pay the test fee.
Once your payment is completed, your schedule exam option will be activated in your dashboard, so that you can go ahead and schedule your exam.
You will be able to download your admit card from your dashboard once the payment is completed.

Retakes
You will be allowed to take the NMAT by GMAC™ exam a maximum of three times during the year’s testing period. This includes the first attempt plus a maximum of two retake attempts. No shows are considered attempts.
Your retake registration option will be enabled in your dashboard after your exam date. You need to register for the retake by simply clicking on the Retake section and pay the fee.

Accessing your results
Your NMAT by GMAC™ exam scores will be published on the nmat.org.in website approximately 4-5 weeks after your exam date. Once the scores have been published you will receive an email indicating that your scores are available. You will be able to access your score card by logging into your NMAT by GMAC™ account. Once the final percentile score is announced, your scores will be sent to the schools that you elected to share you scores.
What is included on your score report?
Your Final score card will include a scaled score for each section, a total score as well as a percentile ranking. The following table lists the range of scores possible on the different sections of the NMAT by GMAC™ exam.

The window wise scores are released 4-5 weeks after you have taken the test and your score card will be updated with scaled scores for all the attempts. You will be notified on email once the score card is available and you can download the score card by logging into your NMAT by GMAC™ account. The final percentile rankings for this year will be calculated after all the candidates have taken their exam(s) and will be announced and updated in your score card on 3rd week of January 2020.
Scaled scores and percentile scores
Scaled scores – All of the test forms are equated to account for any differences in overall difficulty and the raw test scores are placed on a common scale. This process ensures that scores are comparable across test forms such that the scores are not impacted by different candidates getting different test forms.
Final Percentile Scores: The Final Percentiles for each year are calculated at the end of the year after all candidates have completed taking the NMAT by GMAC™ exam. Your score card and the score card that is sent to schools will be updated with the final percentiles announced in the NMAT by GMAC™ Accepting Institutions

Candidates should check the respective University/Business schools websites for accepting program eligibility criteria and admission process through NMAT by GMAC™ score. School application and NMAT by GMAC™ exam registration are two separate steps.
You can select and send scores to schools from India, South Africa and Philippines. Scores sending for five schools/programmes are included in your registration fee.
Test Takers with Disabilities
Accommodations can be arranged to ensure candidates receive the required help at test centres. Accommodation candidates are the differently-abled candidates who require special arrangements at the test centre to take their test.

A scribe will be allowed to assist candidates with vision impairments, however, candidates must bring their own scribe. All scribe requests must be submitted in the prescribed format for approval.
Mobility assistance
Process:
Test takers who wish to request for special assistance must fill the details in the online application while registering. The test takers must scan their Disability Certificate and upload to the registration application in order to get approval for necessary accommodation. Each application will be reviewed on a case-to-case basis. NMAT by GMAC™ helpdesk will intimate the test taker once the disability certificate is verified and accommodation type is approved and will enable payment option for making the registration fee payment. Once the payment is realized, Pearson VUE will contact the candidate to schedule his/her test at their preferred test centre, date and time with the approved accommodation and will ensure proper assistance is provided to them. Any request received after the closure of Registration Application will not be accepted and the test taker will have to test without any assistance in spite of their disability.
The test takers seeking disability accommodation will be contacted by Pearson VUE to schedule their test as each test centre may not be equipped to provide support. Pearson VUE will be able to advise the test taker on the appropriate centre for the test.
A scribe will be allowed to assist test takers with vision impairments. Test takers requiring scribe will be required to bring their own scribe. They will also be required to submit the scribe request in the prescribed format for approval as advised by Pearson VUE.
Mobility assistance will be available for those with mobility impairments.
GMGC reserves the right to make a final judgment regarding testing accommodations in accordance with requirements of the NMAT by GMAC™ test.

Requests for assistance after closure of registration window.
Does not provide the scribe request in the prescribed format for the test takers requiring scribe
Is determined by GMGC to be ineligible for accommodation based on the evaluation of the disability documentation provided.
Test takers need to confirm their email ID before initiating their registration. Confirmation of completed registration and payment will be sent by email on the confirmed email ID only. GMGC shall not be held responsible for non-receipt of confirmation or bouncing of email.
Any test taker who provides a false certificate shall be barred from taking the test and the test fee shall be forfeited. GMGC reserves the right to lodge a complaint with the Police authorities against such test takers.
Any candidate with a disability may not receive the required assistance at the test centre if he/she provides an incomplete certificate, provides the certificate after closure of the registration window, and doesn’t provide the scribe request in the prescribed format.
If the accommodation request is denied, the candidate will receive a communication from NMAT by GMAC™ helpdesk. Any candidate who provides a false certificate shall be barred from taking the test and must forfeit the test fee.

On Test Day
On test day, arrive at the test centre at least 45 minutes prior to your test appointment. Please bring the following documents with you:
Confirmation email (this can be shown on your mobile or taken as a printout)
Admit Card: Candidates are required to download their NMAT by GMAC™ Admit Card from their NMAT by GMAC account.
One valid Photo ID and another Signature ID in original form must be presented from the list below for candidates taking test at test centres in India:

Candidates taking test at international test centres are required to bring following documents on the day of test at the test centre:

Admit Card
Admit Card is a document containing your registration details and photograph. In order to take the NMAT by GMAC™ exam, you are required to produce the Admit Card along with other necessary documents on the day of the test.
You are required to upload your photographs as per the specification provided on the registration website
You will be able to print your Admit Card with photograph after the payment is accepted by GMAC.
You will be required to carry the Admit Card to the test centre and get it signed by the test administrator at the designated place on the day of the test.
If you are opting to retake the exam you must retain the ‘same’ Admit Card that you carried for the first / previous attempt (signed and stamped by the test administrator). Please note you may or may not get the same test centre as allotted to you for your previous attempt(s).
Schools may ask you to present a signed Admit Card to verify that you have completed the NMAT by GMAC™ exam. Please check that your printed photograph on your Admit Card is clearly visible. If the photo is blank or not clearly visible, contact the help desk on nmat.org.in or email nmatsupport@gmac.com to update the photo. You will not be allowed to test if the test administrator is unable to match your photo. Please remember to carry this Admit Card to the testing centre on the day of your scheduled exam. If you fail to do so, you will not be allowed to test. In addition to this Admit Card, you will be required to present other identification documents (original and non-expired) as specified on nmat.org.in to be allowed to test. Make sure that the test administrator signs the Admit Card at the designated place.
Please retain the signed Admit Card until your school admission process is complete.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Age limit: No age bar to attempt NMAT 2019.
Educational Qualification: Candidates must be graduates in any stream from a recognized university.
Minimum marks: The bachelor’s degree holders must have scored at least 50% overall.
Work experience: Candidates having 2-3 years of experience will have an edge over others.
Provisional admission: Candidates who have already given their exam of the last year in graduation and have their results awaiting can also apply.
Maximum number of attempts: At the most, three attempts will be allowed to the candidate in order to perform his/ her best. The best out of three scores will be considered for admission. It should be kept in mind that the maximum three attempts include ‘no shows’ as well.
Apart from the eligibility requirements of NMAT, candidates must also ensure they pay the application fee before the deadline as well as submit all the valid and correct documents.
